Stoke manager Tony Pulis is weighing up whether to give former England defender Jonathan Woodgate his competitive debut in tonight's Europa League third qualifying round first-leg tie against Hajduk Split at the Britannia Stadium. The 31-year-old joined the Potters on a pay-as-you-play deal this summer after making only four appearances in the last two seasons for Tottenham due to injury.
Pulis has backed the Stoke fans to give Hajduk a welcome to remember as the Potters begin their first European campaign for 37 years. He said: "It's exciting times. It's part of what has been a fantastic five years at the club. To have the opportunity of playing a European game at the Britannia against such a famous side is first class. We're looking forward to it."Reuse content
