Barcelona say Xavi Hernandez will miss seven to 10 days with a leg injury, which will leave the Spain midfielder battling to return in time for the Champions League second leg against Arsenal at the Nou Camp on 8 March.
An MRI scan revealed a small muscle tear in his left leg. Xavi is also expected to miss the Spanish champions' league matches at Mallorca and Valencia.
