Real Madrid Castilla head coach Zinedine Zidane has named his son Enzo as the new captain ahead of the upcoming B season.

The Spanish capital club's B side kick off their new campaign next weekend and will do so with Zidane junior leading them out.

Recently-departed trio Sergio Aguza, Diego Llorente and Derik Osede all held the armband at some point last season but Enzo has been selected as the player to hold the position permanently after representing Real's C side last season, making 26 appearances.

Zidane has four children on the books at Madrid, with Enzo being the oldest, but they will have to go some way to replicate the success enjoyed by their father. The 43-year-old lifted the La Liga and the Champions League during a five-year spell at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Scoring 37 goals in 155 appearances, including a famous volley with his weaker foot in the Champions League final victory over Bayer Leverkusen in 2002, Zidane is remembered as one of the greats of his generation.
