Prince William is Aston Villa's most famous fan (and this is a club that can boast Tom Hanks as a follower).

So it was little surprise to see him utilise his position as president of the Football Asociation to claim one of the best seats inside Wembley for the FA Cup final featuring his favourite team against Arsenal.

But whilst the Duke of Cambridge had one of the best views of the match, it also meant the television cameras found it very easy to spot him in the crowd and record his reactions as events unfolded.

It turned out to be a dreadful afternoon for his team who were beaten 4-0 by Arsenal.

Things already looked over for Tim Sherwood's team at 2-0, but when Per Mertesacker headed in unmarked from a corner to make it 3-0, the second in line to the throne new the game was up and couldn't disgsuise his feelings.

Prior to the match William said it would be a "bad day" if Aston Villa lost. As it turned out it was a truly awful one, only compounded for the Prince by then having to hand the FA Cup to Arsenal at the end of it all.
