Capital One Cup draw: Liverpool and Manchester City favourites to win tournament after semi-final draw
The semi-finals will be played over two legs
Manchester City and Liverpool are the favourites with bookmakers to win the Capital One Cup having been kept apart in the semi-final draw.
Manuel Pellegrini's side will take on Everton, whilst Jurgen Klopp must mastermind a path past Stoke City if he is to take Liverpool to the final at Wembley.
Manchester City are the outright favourites for the competition after reaching the last four by thrashing Championship side Hull 4-1. Should they go all the way they would add to their tournament win in 2014. First off they face Everton, who beat Championship high-flyers Middlesbrough 2-0 in the last round. The first leg will be played at Goodison Park.
Liverpool last won the tournament in 2012, and have not reached a Wembley final since making the FA Cup in that same year. They put themselves in the last four with a stunning victory over Southampton that saw them come from a goal down to win 6-1. They take on Stoke, who reached the last four with a 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday. The second leg of that semi-final tie will be played at Anfield.
DRAW...
Everton v Manchester City
Stoke v Liverpool
First legs to be played in the week commencing January 4, 2016. The second legs are in the week commencing January 25.
