Capital One Cup round-up: Hooper rides to Norwich's rescue as City stroll on

Norwich City were indebted to their new signing Gary Hooper after his first goals for the club completed a comeback against Championship side Watford.

The £5m summer signing from Celtic equalised in the last minute of normal time to take the game into extra time after Watford had led 2-0 before firing home the winner in the 114th minute on his full debut.

Javier Acuna had put Gianfranco Zola's side ahead in the 23rd minute before Marco Faraoni got a second 10 minyes after the break. But Josh Murphy gave the Canaries hope when he pulled one back 13 minutes before the end, before Hooper had the decisive final say.

West Ham let slip a two-goal lead against Cardiff City at Upton Park but still went through 3-2 thanks to Ricardo Vaz Te's late winner.

Sam Allardyce's side wasted little time in taking the lead, Ravel Morrison, who scored in the defeat to Everton on Saturday, making it two goals in two games after just 20 seconds. The former Manchester United midfielder then had a hand in Matt Jarvis's eighth-minute strike but, rather against the run of play, Craig Noone pulled one back for Cardiff on the stroke of half time.

Peter Odemwingie equalised with 14 minutes to go, with his first goal for Cardiff, yet Portuguese forward Vaz Te denied the visitors with two minutes to go with a close- range header.

Manchester City made 10 changes from the side which started the 4-1 derby win over United on Sunday yet still beat Wigan 5-0 at the Etihad. After dominating the first half, Edin Dzeko finally gave them the lead with a right-foot shot in the 33rd minute. Stevan Jovetic scored twice after the break, his first goals for City, Yaya Touré curled in another superb free-kick and Jesus Navas also opened his account for Manuel Pellegrini's side with the fifth.

Southampton eased past League One Bristol City at home 2-0 with goals in each half from Gaston Ramirez and Jos Hooiveld, while Hull City beat Huddersfield 1-0 at the KC Stadium and Burnley came from behind to beat Nottingham Forest thanks to two goals from Danny Ings.
