Leicester City 4 Fulham 3 match report: Last-gasp Lloyd Dyer claims Fulham scalp in League Cup
Fulham pull level in the final minute only to see Dyer give Foxes a thrilling and deserved victory

Leicester City have a good relationship with this competition and demonstrated their Premier League credentials with this win against Fulham.
The team second in the Championship, who won the League Cup in 1997 and 2000 under Martin O’Neill, were well worth their place in the last eight.
Leicester’s current manager, Nigel Pearson, had said it would not be a shock if his side beat Fulham and the only real surprise was that the margin of victory was not greater.
Substitute Lloyd Dyer won a breathtaking game as the clock ticked into injury time.
For Fulham, who appeared to have turned turned the corner with wins over Stoke and Crystal Palace, this is another step backwards after their defeat at Southampton.
Martin Jol remains under scrutiny at Craven Cottage and games against Manchester United and Liverpool provide two tough tests before the international break.
Fulham went ahead on 18 minutes. Adel Taarabt found John Arne Riise on the left, and he crossed for Hugo Rodallega to tap in at the back post.
The visitors gifted Leicester two goals before the break. First, Maarten Stekelenburg fumbled Anthony Knockaert’s speculative long-range free-kick and Wes Morgan reacted quickest to head home from four yards. Then, in first-half injury time, Philippe Senderos’s clearance hit Paul Konchesky and Chris Wood scored.
On-loan Arsenal defender Ignasi Miquel headed Leicester further ahead six minutes after the restart, but Fulham responded immediately through Rodallega.
Giorgos Karagounis’ 88th-minute free-kick looked to be sending the game into extra-time before Dyer put Leicester through.
Man of the match Dyer.
Match rating 9/10.
Referee K Stroud (Gillingham).
