Arsenal's FA Cup sixth-round fixture against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday 9 March has created travel chaos for visiting Gunners' fans.

The match kicks off at 7.45pm, and with the latest train from Manchester Piccadilly to London leaving at 9.15pm, it would be impossible for the away fans to see the whole game.

The only option via train after the match would be the 10.28pm, which takes 8 hours and 21 minutes, has two changes, and doesn't get to St Pancas International until 6.49am the following Tuesday morning.

On this issue, the club released a statement today, saying: "In the wake of this announcement, the club is exploring a number of options to help our travelling supporters get back to London afterwards.

"No return trains are currently timetabled and we will let supporters know the proposed travel plans as soon as possible."
