Mathieu Flamini has stolen the show at White Hart Lane, scoring two goals for Arsenal over north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The French midfielder, usually a reserve for Arsene Wenger, showed hitherto unseen strikers' instincts when he expertly followed in an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shot to pounce on a Michel Vorm mistake.

That prompted plenty of Arsenal fans to joke that they didn't need that striker they tried, and failed, to sign all summer.

But the best was still to come. Calum Chambers turned in a Nacer Chadli cross to make it 1-1 and Spurs were on top for a while.

Seemingly out of nowhere, Flamini latched on to a ball to volley home a superb strike past Vorm and put Arsenal on the verge of the fourth round.
