Bert Trautmann played on for Manchester City after breaking his neck in the 1956 FA Cup final and Jamie O'Hara, Portsmouth's all-action midfielder, may be about to follow in the City goalkeeper's footsteps today by playing against Chelsea with a stress fracture in his back.

The midfielder is still a major doubt for the match at Wembley but hopes to play some part. O'Hara is on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and so was ineligible for the 2-0 semi-final victory over his parent club but he hopes a pain-killing injection will allow him to play a role today. It is likely to be O'Hara's final appearance for Portsmouth as his loan deal is due to expire after the final and he will return to Spurs.

The defender Tal Ben-Haim has recovered from a groin problem, while left-back Nadir Belhadj is over a hamstring injury.
