Stoke vs Liverpool: More injury woe for Jurgen Klopp as Philippe Coutinho and Dejan Lovren limp off
Reds pair suffer first-half injuries during the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg against Stoke
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is facing an ever-worsening headache as his injury crisis deepened with Philippe Coutinho and Dejan Lovren limping off at Stoke.
The Reds defeated the Potters 1-0 at the Britannia Stadium in the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg but suffered a set-back in the 18th minute with Coutinho being replaced by eventual goal-scorer Jordon Ibe.
Lovren followed the Brazil international off the pitch 16 minutes later – swapping with James Milner – joining an injury list which includes Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Danny Ings.
Klopp famously quipped last month that he was tired of hearing the word ‘hamstring’ but Coutinho appeared to be suffering with a strain to that area of his body in the Midlands.
Simon Mignolet and Martin Skrtel have also been hit with muscle-based concerns this season.
