None of the top three won in the Championship last night, with leaders Cardiff drawing 1-1 at Derby after winger Craig Noone was sent off in the 63rd minute when Malky Mackay's side were winning, Crystal Palace being held 0-0 at Hull and Leicester losing 1-0 to Leeds, Luciano Becchio getting the winner from the penalty spot in the third minute at Elland Road.

That result meant Middlesbrough moved up to third with a comfortable 3-0 win over Huddersfield at the Riverside, Scott McDonald continuing his good run of recent form by scoring twice.

Brighton are back in the play-off places after a 2-0 home win over struggling Bristol City but the pressure continues to build on the Wolves manager, Staale Solbakken, after they lost again at home to in-form Millwall 1-0, Andy Keogh scoring against his old side for the visitors.

Ipswich under new manager Mick McCarthy jumped out of the bottom three with a 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest.
