Sheffield United have parted company with their manager, Micky Adams.

Adams had wanted to remain at Bramall Lane to try to revive the club's fortunes after a miserable campaign, in which they were relegated from the Championship.

However, the 49-year-old met with owner Kevin McCabe yesterday and was informed his services were no longer required.
