Aldershot part company with manager Kevin Dillon
Aldershot have confirmed that manager Kevin Dillon has left the club by mutual consent.
Dillon, 51, took charge of the npower League Two side in November 2009 and led the Shots to the play-offs last season where they lost to Rotherham in the semi-finals.
But this year the Hampshire club have struggled to repeat that form and Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Oxford left them languishing in 20th place in the table.
Top scorer Marvin Morgan joined League One struggles Dagenham & Redbridge last week after a public falling out with the club's fans and Dillon has now joined him in leaving the club.
His contract was due to expire in the summer and assistant manager Gary Owers has also left the club.
A statement said: "Unfortunately Kevin and the club have different ideas about how best to take the club forward.
"Aldershot would like to place on record sincere thanks to Kevin for his hard work, professionalism and commitment to the cause during his spell as manager. In particular, we would like to thank Kevin for an enjoyable ride last season, taking us to the play-offs, the highest place in the club's recent history.
"We recognise that Kevin has had an impressive career on and off the pitch at the highest level and we are sure that he has a very bright future in football management ahead of him. We wish him every success."
No caretaker manager has yet been appointed for the league trip to Bury on Saturday.
