Queen's Park Rangers had their lead at the top of the Championship cut to seven points last night as they went down 2-0 at Millwall. Neil Warnock's side were unbeaten in the division since New Years' Day but were undone by second-half goals from Steve Morison and Liam Trotter from the spot.
Second-placed Swansea were unable to take full advantage, held to a 1-1 draw at home to Watford after Danny Graham's 78th-minute goal cancelled out Stephen Dobbie's opener. Norwich remain behind the Welsh side on goal difference after a fine 3-2 win at Leicester. Wesley Hoolahan's opener was quickly cancelled out by Richie Wellens, only for Grant Holt, with a penalty, and Aaron Wilbraham to secure the win for Norwich and condemn Sven Goran Eriksson's side to a third defeat in four matches.
Leeds edged past bottom of the table Preston 2-1 to maintain their promotion hopes, while Sheffield United picked up just a second win in 19 matches with a surprise victory over Nottingham Forest. Billy Davies' side have now won just one of their last eight after two goals in six minutes, from Matthew Lowton and Sam Vokes, avenged Dele Adebola's first half opener to give Micky Adams his first victory since taking over at Bramall Lane. Burnley moved to within three points of Forest with a 1-0 win at Hull.
