Giles Coke has apologised to Bury following his on-field altercation with the club captain, Steven Schumacher, during the 3-2 victory over Yeovil on Saturday. After being hauled down by Joe Edwards to win a first-half penalty, Coke became involved in a heated exchange with Schumacher over who would take the spot-kick.
Schumacher, the designated penalty-taker,eventually scored Bury's third goal. Coke said: "I have since apologised privately to the team, the captain, the manager and finally to the Bury supporters.
"All I could think of was getting the ball on the spot and making it 3-1. I make no apology for wanting to win, however I am also a professional footballer and fully appreciate the need to respect the captain and manager, even when emotions are running high."
The Japan midfielder Yuki Abe has had his contract at Leicester cancelled by mutual consent. Abe joined the Foxes from Urawa Red Diamonds in August 2010 and made 59 appearances for the club. The 30-year-old wants to return to Japan to be closer to his family.
He said: "My time in England has been a great experience and I am grateful for the support I have received from my team-mates, the staff at the club and the Leicester City fans. The biggest challenge has been the time I have spent away from my young family in Japan and they must be my priority."
The Foxes have signed the Aston Villa striker Nathan Delfouneso on a one-month loan.
Tranmere's Joss Labadie and David Raven will visit specialists this week. Complications from a previous foot injury ruled the midfielder Labadie out of Saturday's defeat by Bournemouth, while the defender Raven has been out since December with a groin complaint.
Tranmere's manager, Les Parry, said: "Joss has got a pin in his foot that has come a little bit loose and it's aggravating the tissue on the side."
On Raven, he said: "He's got an underlying problem that needs sorting, so he'll be out for a time yet."
The Blackpool goalkeeper Chris Kettings has joined the League Two side Morecambe on loan until the end of the season.
