Plymouth Argyle have confirmed that the club's playing and office staff have not been paid for the last month. The League One club face a winding-up petition from HM Revenue and Customs and as such have had their banking facilities suspended.

"The suspension will remain in place until the petition is dismissed or we obtain a validation order," a club statement read. "We are taking urgent steps to make progress on both fronts."

Argyle, who are 16th in League One, are in talks with former Leeds and Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale over possible investment.
