Harry Redknapp sends Adel Taarabt home from QPR training camp as midfielder is late to training yet again

Latest incident could signal the end for the Moroccan as QPR attempt to reduce inflated wage bill

Queens Park Rangers quest to make an immediate return to the Premier League got off to a shaky start after Harry Redknapp was forced to send Adel Taarabt home from their pre-season training camp in Devon.

Taarabt turned up late to training ahead of their pre-season match with Exeter, and Redknapp told him to pack his bags and head home, putting his future with the Championship club in doubt once again.

The Moroccan was already in the bad books after falling out with the manager towards the back end of last season, and it is the latest incident in what has been a turbulent time for Taarabt in west London.

The Sun reported last season that Taarabt was fined £60,000 after refusing to be weighed and turning up late to training on numerous occasions, and QPR are eager to reduce their inflated wage bill following their relegation, meaning Taarabt’s career at Loftus Road could be over sooner rather than later.

Redknapp is still hopeful of luring Tottenham’s Scott Parker to QPR after the midfielder was told he can leave White Hart Lane.

The England international could be available for around £2m, and Redknapp is a known fan having brought Parker to Spurs when he signed him from West Ham. However, Parker may be reluctant to step down a division as he pushes for a place in England’s World Cup squad next summer.
