Hoddle aims to stay with Wolves

Glenn Hoddle hopes to sign a contract extension at Wolves before the end of the season. Hoddle, who signed an initial six-month deal when he took over from Dave Jones in December, has held several rounds of talks with Molineux officials.

"There are a few issues that we have already cleared away, but I need to know answers to key questions," the former England manager said. "There will be no more parachute money in a year's time and we need to know what the short-term and long-term plans are. What happens if we go up? What happens if we don't? Then we can talk about the group of people I want around me and the contracts."

League One side Hartlepool are looking for a new manager days before their crucial league match with Bournemouth, following the departure of Neale Cooper, by mutual consent Cooper has been linked with a return to Scotland with Dunfermline. The current reserve-team manager Martin Scott will take over first-team affairs until a replacement is appointed.

Argentinian Ramon Diaz has resigned as manager of the League Two side Oxford United.
