Jones denies split in Cardiff's ranks
Saturday 11 December 2010
Dave Jones has seen his promotion-chasing Cardiff City side hit a slump in the Championship similar to that of Chelsea in the Premier League but the manager insists his club's problems can be solved by hard work.
Cardiff took just four points from five matches last month and drew 1-1 against bottom-of-the-table Preston North End last Saturday. However, victory at Middlesbrough today would ease concerns among their supporters.
Jones also wants to put an end to rumours of disharmony at the club. "A lot of things have been written that just aren't true," he said. "For whatever reason people love a gossip and there's nothing to gossip about here. Everybody's trying really hard.
"At the moment it's not coming together. Everyone's looking for something to be wrong – are there any arguments? Are there fights? There isn't any of that."
