Ipswich Town recovered from last weekend's humbling 7-1 loss at Peterborough, beating Leeds United 2-1. But Paul Jewell's men needed help – the Yorkshire side's Aidan White was sent off four minutes into the second-half when they were leading through Ross McCormack's first-half strike. After White saw red for a foul on Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Jason Scotland levelled and Keith Andrews' shot hit Adam Clayton on its way in. "We got a couple of decisions that went our way and a deflected goal," a relieved Jewell admitted. "Thank Christ for that, sometimes you have to just take the victory."
