Leicester City have arranged a pre-season friendly against Real Madrid. The nine-time European champions will visit the Walkers Stadium on 30 July, one week before the new Championship campaign begins, in what will be their only fixture in the UK this summer.
Real coach Jose Mourinho could include the world's two most expensive players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka, in his squad, along with World Cup winners Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso.
"It is fantastic that Leicester City will be taking on one of the world's most famous teams," the Leicester manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson, said. "Real Madrid is a club with great tradition and their squad is filled with world-class players.
"Their manager is someone who demands the best from his players, whatever the occasion. This fixture shows that the club is growing all the time and emphasises the owners' commitment to moving Leicester City forward."
Leicester have spent heavily in the transfer market since being taken over by a Thailand-based consortium in August and will be expected to mount a strong promotion challenge next season.
