Bournemouth maintained their remarkable charge towards the Premier League with a 2-0 win at rain-drenched Rotherham to stand a point clear of Ipswich at the top of the table.

The Cherries took advantage of Derby’s defeat at home to Nottingham Forest by subduing relegation-threatened Rotherham with goals by Tommy Elphick and Callum Wilson. Elphick headed in a cross by Charlie Daniels on the stroke of half-time, while Wilson tapped in amid a 62nd-minute scramble after Rotherham had failed to clear. Noel Hunt scored twice in the first 14 minutes as Ipswich won 3-1 at Millwall to move up to second place. He was set up for his opener by a lobbed pass from his brother, Stephen. Millwall had missed an early chance but went 2-0 down when the Irish striker tapped in his second after Kevin Bru’s shot was parried. Tomlin strikes twice to keep home run going

Middlesbrough maintained their pursuit of promotion when two goals by Lee Tomlin gave them a 2-0 home win over Huddersfield and took their unbeaten run at home to 10 games. They are fourth, a point behind Derby and one clear of Brentford, who won 1-0 at Brighton thanks to Andre Gray’s 10th league goal of the season.

Jack completes comeback for leaders Aberdeen

Ryan Jack bundled the ball home in added time to earn a 3-3 draw for Aberdeen at home to Dundee, which left them two points clear at the top. Celtic, who won 2-0 at Hamilton, have two games in hand in second place. The Dons were 3-1 down in the 87th minute when Kostadin Gadzhalov fouled Lawrence Shankland and Jonny Hayes scored from the spot.
