Huddersfield Town's Gary Taylor-Fletcher scored the 500,000th goal in the history of English League Football last night in the 78th minute of the League One match against Rotherham Town at the Galpharm Stadium. Huddersfield won 3-0.

Taylor-Fletcher, who also scored for the Terriers in their FA Cup third-round tie against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in January, will today be presented with a special trophy by the Football League.

In the Championship, a slightly lucky strike from Lewis Emanuel earned Luton Town a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough to maintain a perfect start to the new season for Mike Newell's side. In contrast, the Owls have still to score their first goal.

Burnley also made it two wins from two with a 1-0 win at Leicester.
