Chris Coleman hails Gareth Bale commitment to Wales and thanks Real Madrid for co-operation
Forward rushed back to training after completing move to Spain
Chris Coleman praised Gareth Bale's attitude after the world's most expensive player raced back from his unveiling at Real Madrid to join up with the Wales squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Serbia.
Wales' hopes of qualifying for next summer's finals are all but over, and Bale is not at full fitness having not played since July, but he trained today with the squad.
"I'm delighted with his attitude," said Coleman. "But it doesn't surprise me. I know the type of lad he is, he is passionate about Wales."
The Wales manager thanked Real Madrid for allowing Bale to travel back and join up with Wales. He said: "Credit to them, they have not put any barriers in front of him, there has not even been a conversation. I know Carlo Ancelotti's right-hand man Paul Clement very well, he coached with me at Fulham, so that will be good for us going forward, the fact that we have a connection there and a relationship."
Coleman also revealed he had noticed a difference in Bale since his dream move was completed.
He said: "He has got a smile on his face now as he knows where he is going to be playing his football, he knows his future because before he did not know whether he was staying at Spurs or whether he was going.
"The media frenzy was following him and now he has a more settled look on his face because he knows where he is going to be playing."
