The left-back said that Welbeck, who moved to Arsenal from Manchester United on transfer deadline day, is now sitting at the 'southern table' rather than the 'northern table' when the squad eats together.

"Danny's made the switch from the northern table to the southern table at dinners and stuff," said Gibbs, who has been dropped to the bench by Roy Hodgson in favour of Leighton Baines.

"He's getting a bit of stick from the northern boys but he's been properly welcomed to the south."

Gibbs admitted that the mood in the England squad was fun and that they have "great banter".

He added: "Everyone knows each other quite well. There aren't too many new faces. Spirit is good.

"It's very relaxed and there's a feel-good factor in the dressing room. It's fun."
