Demba Ba fly kick's defender

West Ham fans may wish they played in the Chinese Super League after watching this clip.

With many Hammers fans left unhappy at Adrian's red card for a kick to the chest of Leicester City's Jamie Vardy, it seems baffling that Demba Ba did not get sent off for the worst misplaced karate kick arguably ever seen.

At a weekend game between Shanghai Shenua and Gungzhou Evergrande, Ba - who previously played for West Ham as well as Chelsea and Newcastle - only received a yellow card after he flew in the air to get a high ball and kicked a Evergrande player square in the face.

The kick sent the Evergrande player writhing in agony on the floor, and as a small fracas occurred after the incident, Ba's teammate, Tim Cahill, pleaded with the referee to not send the striker off.

In the end, Australian diplomacy prevailed and the Senegalese striker only received a yellow card for the rather dangerous tackle.

He may have fallen from the graces of the Premier League, but at least Ba is getting away with a more inexperienced refereeing pedigree.
