Edafe Egbedi scored the second-half winner as Nigeria beat England 1-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia.
"We were the ones who took more risks," said Nigeria coach John Obuh, whose side now play France on Sunday.
England striker Matt Phillips had two late chances to equalise but he fired over both times.
