The Czech Republic captain Tomas Rosicky is considering international retirement in order to prolong his club career, while striker Milan Baros has called time on playing for the Czechs.
"I would love to continue [internationally] but I'm not stupid," Rosicky said following his side's quarter-final exit to Portugal. "I know I'm getting older and have to think about what is good for me."
Former Liverpool forward Baros made 93 international appearances – scoring 41 goals – and was top scorer at Euro 2004.
Ibrahimovic buys his own island
Sweden's enigmatic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has put the disappointment of an early European Championship exit behind him by purchasing his very own island.
The Milan player recently professed his love for hunting and the island, on Lake Malaren just to the west of Stockholm, contains over 500 hectares of hunting ground.
With wild boar, deer and perch and pike in the waters around the land, there should be plenty for the 30-year-old to take his frustrations out on before the start of the new season.Reuse content
