Moses guides England youngsters to Euro finals
England U19 2 Scotland U19 1

England reached the finals of the European Under-19 Championship for the second year running. Their victory over Scotland last night in a match which had become an eliminator meant they finished on top of their elite round qualifying group and take their place with seven other nations in next month's finals in Ukraine.
Scotland had to win to qualify but fell behind in the 66th minute when Newcastle's Nile Ranger scored his fourth goal in the three elite round games, firing in at the near post from a Nathan Delfouneso cross. Seven minutes later, Victor Moses, the Crystal Palace forward, struck the decisive second goal.
Scotland reacted positively to the setback and England's goalkeeper Jason Steele saved well from Leigh Griffiths and John Fleck. Scotland got their consolation with eight minutes remaining when the referee Carlos Clos Gomez awarded a penalty following Gavin Hoyte's tug on Griffiths in the box. Alex McDonald struck the penalty into the bottom corner to give his team some hope. But England held on for their third win in three games in the group, following their successes against Bosnia and Slovakia.
