Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it WWE superstar Rob van Dam? No, it's 'SuperVan', Robin van Persie.

The flying Dutchman's incredible headed goal, the equaliser for the Netherlands in their 5-1 thrashing of world champions Spain has been given the usual treatment across Twitter and Facebook.

Van Persie met with Daley Blind's 45-yard cross to score from what looked like an impossible position, diving to connect with the pass in mid-air to head past a stranded Iker Casillas.

The Manchester United forward, who will soon be joined by his national team coach Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, added a second later on in the rout in Salvador.

Van Persie and the Netherlands will be back in action against Australia on Wednesday.
