Roy Hodgson handed first England starts to John Stones, Jonjo Shelvey and Jamie Vardy for the match against their tiny European opponents.

Wayne Rooney opened the scoring for England after just 12 minutes from the penalty spot after a suspect call - the goal equalling Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time goal record.

Christian Brolli headed in an own goal shortly after as Roy Hodgson's eased into half-time with a comfortable lead.

It took less than 20 seconds for Ross Barkley to head in England's third as the game became a stroll in the park.

Theo Walcott came off the bench to score twice, while Harry Kane scored the goal of the match, latching onto a Shelvey pass to chip over goalkeeper Aldo Simoncini.
