Alvaro Morata scored twice as defending champions Spain cruised to a 3-0 victory over Turkey on Friday to qualify for the knockout stages of the European Championship.

Spain recorded the largest winning margin of the tournament so far as its second victory left it top of Group D, while Turkey's second defeat leaves it on the verge of elimination.

After failing to impress with missed chances in an opening 1-0 win over the Czech Republic, forwards Morata and Manuel “Nolito” Agudo scored goals three minutes apart in the first half to give Spain a 2-0 lead which Turkey could not respond to.

Morata opened the scoring with a header into the top-right corner off a pass over the top by Nolito in the 34th minute, sending the ball past goalkeeper Volkan Babacan from 12 meters.

An error by the Turkey defence set up the second as centre-back Mehmet Topal failed to clear Cesc Fabregas' lobbed pass and instead lobbed it into the path of Nolito, who slid the ball in despite slipping as he took the shot.

Spain made it 3-0 three minutes into the second half when Andres Iniesta's through ball found Jordi Alba, who appeared slightly offside in the box, and the Barcelona left-back squared it for Morata to apply a simple finish.

But which player rated highest? Check out our ratings and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

SPAIN

David de Gea Dealt well with Ramos' early mistake but other than that he was rarely called into action. 6

Juanfran Got down the right flank exceptionally well. His deliveries were more or less on point for the entirety of the match 7

Gerard Piqué Defensively soild. Never slipped up and kept Burak quiet all game long. 7

Sergio Ramos Made a questionable decision here and there but reliable nonetheless. More or less in control for the full 90 minutes. 6

Jordi Alba Like Juanfran, he got forward well and threatened with his deliveries into the box. Grabbed himself a neat assist. 7

Cesc Fàbregas Particularly effective with his short balls in behind the Turkish defence. Key part of Spain's midfield. 7

Sergio Busquets Another important cog in Spain's midfield dominance. Lovely short link-up with those around him and created chances for his side. 7

Andres Iniesta Ran the show throughout. Pulled all the strings in the middle and set the pace of the game. Brilliant. 9

David Silva Did his job down the right and registered a number of close chances on goal 6

Nolito Great assist for the first goal and showed his class with a technically impressive finish for Spain's second. 7

TURKEY

Volkan Babacan Pulled of some impressive goal-denying saves in the first half. Let down by a weak defence. 6

Gokhan Gönül Struggled against Nolito. Was willing to get forward at times though. 6

Mehmet Topal Defensively poor. Looked out of sorts and made a huge blunder to gift Spain their second. 5

Arda Turan was booed by his own supporters in Nice on Friday night

Selcuk Inan Substituted off around the hour mark. Failed to take hold of the game. 5

Oguzhan Ozyakup Provided some penetrative passes here and there. Couldn't lift his side though. 6
