Manchester City are facing a must-win tie against their Russian opponents, after squandering a two-goal lead in Moscow a couple of weeks ago.
Manuel Pellegrini's team are winless in their first three matches in Group D, with draws against Roma and CSKA, and a defeat in Munich against table-topping Bayern.
This game represents their easiest chance of three points, and with Bayern already pretty much qualified from the group, City will need a victory before they head for what is likely to be a showdown at the Stadio Olimpico on 10 December.
Chelsea are top of Group G and face a Maribor side they beat 6-0 at Stamford Bridge when the teams met last month.
However, the Blues can expect a hostile atmosphere in Slovenia and will find it much more difficult than they did at home - Maribor frustrated Sporting Lisbon to earn a 1-1 draw when they played at the Stadion Ljudski on matchday one.
With Liverpool at Anfield their next opponent in the early Saturday kick-off, Jose Mourinho will likely play a slightly weakened team to ensure his first-choice players dare fit and raring to go in that one.
