It is a big game for...

Harry Kane. The England forward scored his first club goal of the season in the 4-1 win over Manchester City at the weekend and he will be hungry for more. Kane scored seven goals in nine Europa League matches last season including a hat-trick against Greek side Asteras Tripolis.

Best stat…

1: Spurs have only ever lost once in six games against French opposition in Europe. (0-1 vs. Lyon in the 1967-68 Cup Winners’ Cup – Spurs eventually went through on away goals).

Remember when...

Spurs scored a last gasp equaliser against Lyon to qualify for the last 16 of the Europa League?

Player to watch…

Eric Dier has been tipped for Roy Hodgson’s next England squad after a string of impressive performance so far this season. The central defender, signed from Sporting Lisbon, scored in Spurs’ 4-1 win over Manchester City at the weekend but it will be in his own half that Dier will receive his plaudits.

Andros Townsend will also be hoping to enter the thoughts of the England manager. Townsend has not scored for the Three Lions since his strike earned Hodgson’s side a 1-1 draw with Italy in March. With Premier League appearances few and far between, Townsend must make his mark in cup competitions and the visit to Monaco will be his chance to show boss Mauricio Pochettino what he is capable of.
