The football world has been reacting to the death of Alfredo Di Stefano.

The football world has been reacting to the death of Alfredo Di Stefano.

The Real Madrid legend passed away at the age of 88 just a couple of days after suffering a serious heart-attack near to the Bernabeu in the Spanish capital.

Di Stefano was considered among the greatest ever players and was instrumental in Real Madrid's run of five successive European titles from 1956 to 1960.

The Argentina-born former forward played for the club from 1953 to 1964, winning eight Primera Division titles.

He is Madrid's second highest scorer in history, behind Raul, with 307 goals in all competitions.

He also had two short spells as coach of the club and is their honorary president.
