Barcelona and Nike have revealed the new Catalan side's strip for the 2015/16 season - with hoops instead of their famous stripes for the first time in its 115 year history.

The La Liga champions stick with blue and red as their primary colours, with a golden trim, but many will be baffled by their latest effort.

With the hashtag #BuiltForBrilliance being used by the marketing team at the Camp Nou to promote the new strip, it is hoped that there won't be a backlash against the decision to alter the world-renowned design.

Luis Suarez, Neymar, Lionel Messi and company are picture promoting the shirt and are all expected to still be wearing it next season.

If social media is anything to go by, however, the supporters will need some persuading before they part with their hard earned cash.

The designers at Nike, you could say, have not earned their stripes this year.
