Class of 2006: Last year's Top 20 League Players
The bulk of the players chosen the 20 best a year outside the top flight no longer qualify as they are in the Premiership. A dozen have been promoted or transferred into the top flight, and one is in the Scottish Premier League, Kenny Miller, at Celtic. Another, Nigel Quashie, did move into the Premiership, with West Bromwich, but was relegated again. In addition, Matty Fryatt, with Walsall at the time of the survey, stepped up a level to Championship club Leicester. Of the remaining five players, two have been transferred within the Championship, to clubs whose pre-season promotion odds were shorter than the ones they left.
