Arsene Wenger's long-running streak of failure to beat Jose Mourinho is finally at an end thanks to Arsenal's 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the Community Shield.

Prior to today's match at Wembley, Wenger had failed to beat Jose Mouinho in 13 attempts.

Among those matches was another Community Shield meeting, which came 10 years ago. On that 2005 August afternoon current Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas was on target for the Gunners, but Arsenal lost due to a double from Didier Drogba.

The long-running battle between the two managers covers both Mourinho's spells at Stamford Bridge. Since his return, Mourinho has enjoyed two 2-0 victories over Arsenal, a memorable 6-0 win at Stamford Bridge and before today, two 0-0 draws, one of which came in their most recent meeting back in April at the Emirates.

However, thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's rocket of a winner at Wembley, Wenger has finally got the better of the Special One.

Wenger vs Mourinho record: Played 13, Mourinho won 7, Wenger won 1, 6 draws.
