At Victoria Park, Burscough led League One Gillingham in the 10th minute through Karl Bell, but Matt Jarvis equalised just before the hour. The Gills had Michael Flynn sent off, then went in front through Mark Saunders. But the non-leaguers, in their sixth FA Cup match of the season, won it 3-2 with two goals in the final three minutes, an Ian Cox own goal and David Rowan's late strike sealing the Gills' fate.

Tamworth's victory, 2-1 at League One Bournemouth, was even more impressive, with goals by Graham Ward and Kyle Storer.

Nottingham Forest's travails continued when they were held 1-1 at home by Weymouth of the Conference South, while Burton Albion of the Conference drew 0-0 at Peterborough. The Conference South side Eastbourne earned a replay at Oxford United after a 1-1 draw, Ollie Rowland keeping his nerve with a 90th-minute penalty.

Harrogate Town had not played a League side before yesterday and it was their good fortune to meet the League Two bottom side, Torquay. Danny Holland's goal earned the Conference North team a 1-1 draw at Plainmoor.
