David Sullivan took over at West Ham yesterday claiming that the Hammers would be challenging for a place in the Champions League within seven years.

It's a bold claim by the new owner, but before West Ham fans get carried away, they should bare in mind that the words "promises are made to be broken" is not just a fancy turn of phrase.
