Arsenal may have signed another player today – Mathieu Flamini has rejoined from Milan – but Arsene Wenger has still not spent a single penny yet in this transfer window.

A website has caught the imagination of frustrated Arsenal fans - http://havearsenalspentanymoneyyet.com/ during the fruitless summer in the transfer market, quickly gaining 19k likes on Facebook.

The site was set up by Adam Alfandary, a Brit living out in America, after he grew tired of checking the news every day to see if Wenger had bought anyone, and then ending up disappointed. It was his first foray into web publishing. “It started off as a little bit of light comic relief, but every day that goes by I just get more and more depressed as the clock keeps dwindling,” Alfandary said. “The countdown was originally set to the first game of the season, but I had to reset it when that came and went without a signing.”

Arsenal's only other signing in this transfer window has been 20-year-old French striker Yaya Sanogo on a free from Auxerre.
