Liverpool's Fabio Borini ruled out for rest of season after injury against Swansea City
Fabio Borini's troubled debut season at Liverpool has become a lot worse with the news that he has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder.
The forward suffered the injury during today's 5-0 victory over former club Swansea and looks set to miss out on the rest of the campaign, according to his manager Brendan Rodgers.
"It looks like Fabio Borini has dislocated his shoulder, so that would put him out for the rest of the season," manager Brendan Rodgers told BBC Sport.
It caps an unlucky season for the young Italian, who arrived from Rome in the summer for a reported fee of around £11m, but has already missed three months of the season with a broken foot.
Now it seems the 21-year-old will have to wait until next season to register his first league goal for Liverpool, having failed to find the net on his nine appearances so far this campaign.
The injury puts a blight on an otherwise bright day for Brendan Rodgers whose side easily outclassed an understrength Swansea to move within three points of city rivals Everton.
