Brian Clough (Leeds United, 31 July 1974 - 12 September 1974)
Cloughie took over from inveterate rival and Elland Road legend Don Revie following his appointment as England manager. Before his appointment, Clough had labelled Revie's Leeds as "the dirtiest and most cynical team in the league" and unsurprisingly the players refused to accept him. He was sacked after just 44 days after picking up just four points from six league matches.
