Mesut Ozil tweets his delight that another World Cup winner has joined Arsenal

Playmaker welcomes Germany fitness coach Shad Forysthe to the club

Mesut Ozil has hailed one of Arsenal's new signings this summer - fitness coach Shad Forsythe.

Forsythe joined the Gunners from Germany's national team during pre-season, and was an integral part of the World Cup winners set-up in Brazil this summer.

The American coach had been working with the German national team since 2004.

Forsythe is tasked with improving a Gunners' squad which has been dogged with injuries over recent seasons.

Ozil himself missed six weeks of last season with a hamstring problem, and has worked with Forsythe since making his debut for the national team in 2009.

Forsythe has also worked with Arsenal's other World Cup-winning German players Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski. Ozil, Mertesacker and Podolski all returned to training on Monday after being given an extended break after Germany's World Cup triumph.

Arsenal have spent over £60m already this summer, on the signings of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers, but the arrival of Forsythe could prove to be the most crucial.
