Stan Hey: 6-5 Against

I'm backing Chelsea in last fling for title

No prizes for guessing the big event – the small matter, in the 36th round of 38 matches, of a title decider. No wonder the Premier League gave a robust 'no' to the idea of end-of-season play-offs.

A win for Manchester United tomorrow will leave them needing just a point from their last two fixtures. Chelsea know it is a last fling before a summer clear-out, so Carlo Ancelotti must surely revert to the formation, and players, that provided their steam-roller momentum – 4-3-3, with Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Florent Malouda up front.

I've lost twice on United in the past fortnight, and as I'd love to see the title go down to the last game, I'm backing Chelsea to win – £20 at 9-4 with Betfred. If Wayne Rooney's hamstring keeps him out, or Ancelotti starts with Fernando Torres, the odds may shift.

A more tranquil arena awaits us at Sawgrass in Florida next week with the Players' Championship. Overseas golfers have won six of the last nine but Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy are unlikely to play. Martin Kaymer is on our list, alongside Geoff Ogilvy, who finally displayed some form when he tied fourth in the Masters, and former winner Sergio Garcia.

Derby trials abound this week, and I'm putting £10 each-way, at 16-1, on Sir Michael Stoute's Sea Moon for the Epsom Classic before a possible run in the Dante Stakes at York on Thursday.
