Tom Huddlestone today kept his word - but not his hair.

He had failed to find the back of the net for two-and-a-half years but that came to an end in the recent 6-0 victory over Fulham.

Hair stylist Lance Lowe was invited into Hull's KC Stadium dressing room to remove the former Tottenham midfielder's increasingly wild hair.

"I had a couple of requests on Twitter for a Mr T mohican but have decided not to go as drastic as that. It is a big moment and one we want to do properly," he said.

Huddlestone has raised thousands of pounds for charity Cancer Research UK thanks to his hair-growing exploits - and the piece chopped off on the pitch in the immediate aftermath of his goal is being sold on eBay where bids have reached £3,500.

"Fair play to the public, I'd like to thank them for raising the awareness and pledging their money," said Huddlestone.

"Hopefully my next cut won't be as long coming now and I hope someone else will do the same now because it's a good cause."
