Watford fans will have free coaches to Plymouth

By Gordon Tynan

Watford are to offer their supporters free coach travel to next month's FA Cup quarter-final at Plymouth. The Hornets were angry at the decision to hold the match at 6pm on 11 March, fearing many fans would stay away because of the difficulty of making a 500-mile round trip on a Sunday.

Their chairman, Graham Simpson, said: "We are extremely disappointed at the decision regarding the timing of the game without having had any consultation with the FA. Watford fans have been fantastic this season, and we want to show them our appreciation by giving back some of the proceeds from this Cup run in the form of free transport."

Watford say they asked the FA to reschedule the tie but were informed there was "little or no chance of that happening".
