Aaron Ramsey claimed that he missed Wales' 1-1 draw with Finland with a hamstring injury, however his manager Chris Coleman says he was absent because of the flu.
The Arsenal midfielder, who has scored 11 goals for club and country this season, tweeted of hamstring trouble today, but said he would be back for the Gunners against Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday: "Gutted to miss the game yesterday,my hamstring was tight after training. Medical staff didn't want to risk me, will be fine for next weekend."
Coleman, on the other hand, stated after the draw in Cardiff that the 22-year-old was absent after failing to recover from the illness which forced club team-mates Per Mertesacker and Tomas Rosicky out of the 1-0 defeat by Manchester United last Sunday.
"Aaron arrived with flu," Coleman revealed. "He was ill last week before the Manchester United game, as were a lot of the Arsenal lads. He didn't improve and could not finish the training session on Friday [the eve of the match]. The way he's been playing, he'd be a miss for any team."
