Adams set to recall Dickov for Leicester

Micky Adams has said "past performances" will come into the equation when the Leicester City manager decides whether to select Paul Dickov, Frank Sinclair and Keith Gillespie for Saturday's home Premiership game with Everton.

Dickov, Sinclair and Gillespie played for the first time on Tuesday night since their return from Spain and completed 90 minutes in a reserve match at Southampton. They are currently on bail after being charged with sexual aggression towards three German women during the club's training camp in La Manga.

Adams said: "I will use them as I see fit and I'll pick a side I think can beat Everton on Saturday. I wasn't at the game on Tuesday and I'll be getting the feedback from the coaches to decide whether they are in the right frame of mind and the fitness levels are OK.

"But I have to think about everything that has happened to them," he added, "and what they've done for me in terms of past performances."

That would seem to indicate Dickov could have a part to play as he has been a key member of Leicester's attack with 10 goals this season and has linked up effectively with Les Ferdinand and Marcus Bent.

The Scotland international striker also weighed in with 20 goals last season to help Leicester make an instant return to the Premiership.

In contrast, Gillespie has started only a handful of games since moving from Blackburn Rovers on a free transfer last summer, while Sinclair's involvement has been curtailed since October because of an Achilles injury which kept him out for two months.

However, Adams is adamant the trio will be available for selection while the club conducts an internal investigation into the ill-fated trip to Spain a fortnight ago.

He said: "We will not wait until the internal investigation has been concluded before bringing them back.

"We are fourth bottom of the Premiership with a very small squad and will hear all sides of the story and, until we decide what disciplinary action we're going to take, they are available.

"I keep saying this but at present all they have been guilty of is having a drink 14 days before a game."
